Purview PII Scanner Insights
The Purview PII Scanner Insights accelerator loads the results of the on-premise Azure Information Protection (AIP) scanner into the Content Store for further processing with the Insights accelerator.
The Azure Information Protection (AIP) scanner is a tool that scans your on-premise data sources for sensitive information. The scanner can be configured to scan for a set of predefined sensitive information types (e.g. credit card numbers, social security numbers, etc.) and/or custom sensitive information types. The scanner can be configured through the Purview portal. For more information on how to configure the scanner, please refer to the Azure Information Protection scanner documentation.
The scanner scans UNC paths for network shares that use the SMB or NFS (Preview) protocols. In order to scan any other data sources, you must first run an extraction using any of the available source accelerators.
